Under Eyes

Evidence-based treatments for dark circles, puffiness and fine lines around the eyes — from mesotherapy and polynucleotides to medical-grade skincare and lymphatic drainage.

What causes dark under eye circles or puffiness?

It is often associated with the ageing process, which starts as soon as we are born. As we age, our bodies continuously reduce the amount of collagen, elastin and growth factors needed to keep us looking young.

Can dark under eye circles be treated?

Yes — there are quite a few treatments which can help reduce dark circles, general under eye rejuvenation and fine lines.

Treatment

What is mesotherapy and how can it be used to treat the under eye?

Mesotherapy is small injections of natural vitamins, acids and minerals to precise points of the mesodermal layer of the skin where they are most needed to provide skin rejuvenation, improve skin laxity, reduce mild under eye circles, reduce acne, fade stretch marks, tighten loose skin, reduce cellulite and lighten pigmentation.

Mesotherapy is enriched with a cocktail of hyaluronic acid to quickly improve the hydration of the skin, firmness of the skin as well as eliminating fine wrinkles and first signs of ageing. This is ideal for general under eye rejuvenation.

Frequency: For best results, a course of 6 treatments is recommended, 2 weeks apart.

Duration: Each procedure lasts approximately 30–45 minutes.

Results: Mild results can be seen as quickly as shortly after the first treatment.

Treatment

What are polynucleotides and how can they be used to treat the under eye?

Polynucleotides are regenerative injectable treatments made from highly purified DNA fragments that stimulate your skin to repair and strengthen itself. When used under the eye, they improve skin thickness, boost collagen production, enhance hydration and reduce inflammation — making them ideal for crepey skin, fine lines and dark circles caused by thin, translucent skin.

Unlike tear trough filler, polynucleotides do not add volume; instead, they gradually improve skin quality for a natural, refreshed appearance with minimal downtime.

Treatment

Medical grade skincare regime for under eye issues

Puffy under eyes, dark hollow circles and lines and wrinkles under and beside the eyes can be a common problem. At SkinLab we are stockists and prescribers of medical grade skincare regimes which are evidence-based and proven to be effective. Clients can use these products on a daily or twice daily regime to tackle these issues.

Medical grade skincare is recommended to be used alongside in-clinic treatments to really enhance and maintain effects, however it can be used as a standalone treatment if preferred.

We stock 2 medical grade skincare brands to suit differing budgets, one of which is entirely vegan friendly too. Book a skin consultation online to find out more.

Treatment

Lymphatic drainage for under eye puffiness

Excess fluid under the eyes can be reduced by performing lymphatic drainage on a regular basis. Lymphatic drainage draws the fluid from wherever it is trapped, and draws it to the lymph nodes which then empty away the fluid back into the body to be excreted.

Lymphatic drainage is performed mechanically with a device and can also help with facial contouring. Appointments can be booked online for this standalone treatment.
