Dermal filler is a Thin or Thick Jelly like substance which is injected under the surface of the skin. It’s made up Hyaluronic Acid (HA) and contains ingredients which support rehydration and re-plumping of the areas where it is injected. HA molecules can hold a large volume of water and as a result, replenishes volume loss and stimulates fibroblasts to produce their own collagen which further enhances the results. Consequently, the client has less lines and more volume.
Dermal filler can be injected into many areas.
Buttocks, Cheeks, Jaw, Nose, Around the mouth, Lips, under eyes and more!
However, we are trained only to administer Dermal filler into the Marionette lines (lines from mouth to chin), Naso-labial lines (lines from the nose to either side of the mouth) And Lips.
The Dermal Filler which we use in clinic is approved and safe.
Studies have shown in general it lasts 9-12 months, however more recent research suggests it can actually still be there many years later. So basically, we say minimum 9-12 months, maybe longer.
Dermal Filler is often used to plump out the skin which has either sunken or deep lines have developed during the aging process, such as smokers lines above the lips, lips which have lost volume and/or are developing creases, Marionette or Naso-labial lines.
Yes, a drug can be injected to dissolve the Dermal Filler, but remember if you have previously had dermal filler in that area, the drug will dissolve ALL the dermal filler in that area once injected.
